Toronto Blue Jays Free Agents 2017
Hello everyone and welcome to my first off season post of the 2017 season!
Although I am sad that our season has come to a close, I am very excited to continue writing all about the Blue Jays throughout the entire year.
As most of you have heard (if you keep up with the Blue Jays on and off of the field), you would know that there are 12 current free agents from the 2016 Blue Jays organization. These players include:
- Jose Bautista
- Edwin Encarnacion
- R.A. Dickey
- Scott Feldman
- Joaquin Benoit
- Dioner Navarro
- Brett Cecil
- Jason Grilli
- Michael Saunders
- Darwin Barney
- Gavin Floyd
- Josh Thole
There are also a few free-agents in the minors, including:
- Casey Kotchman
- Brad Penny
- Daric Barton
- Alexi Casilla
Starting yesterday, the Blue Jays have five days of exclusive time to try and sign the free agents listed above. After that, the players can get offers from any club in the Major League. If they sign with another club, the Blue Jays will be given a draft pick.
Next week, I will be sharing with you what I believe the priorities should be for the Toronto Blue Jays and how they decide to go at this free agency list.
What would you do (tweet me your answers: @aalyssacohen)?
